Artificial Intelligence - how it all started.

Today we are living in age where Machines are an important part of our Life or to say correctly we are living with machines. Machines which are present today are smarter than yesterday. Today's machines can accept information, process information and even learn from information around them. New age machines are getting closer to Human eco-system. Thus we can say Machines are getting intelligent day by day and is being getting involved into Humans more than previous times. This is known as Artificial intelligence.

Do we actually know how it all started? We will cover the first ever impression of Artificial intelligence.

It was all started in the Year 1943. The first work which is now recognized as AI was done by Warren McCulloch and Walter pits in 1943. They proposed a model of artificial neurons. Now to understand, artificial neuron is a connection point in artificial neural network. Now, artificial neural network is just like human neural network. Now each artificial neuron transmits information to other artificial neuron.

The first artificial neuron was the Threshold Logic Unit (TLU), or Linear Threshold Unit. The Threshold Logic Unit (TLU) is a basic form of machine learning model consisting of a single input unit (and corresponding weights), and an activation function. The model was specifically targeted as a computational model of the "nerve net" in the brain.

A word about training of artificial neural networks.

Neural networks learn (or are trained) by processing examples the result of which is known. The training of a neural network from a given example is usually conducted by determining the difference between the processed output of the network (often a prediction) and a target output. This difference is the error. The network then adjusts its weighted associations according to a learning rule and using this error value. Successive adjustments will cause the neural network to produce output that is increasingly similar to the target output. After a sufficient number of these adjustments, the training can be terminated based on certain criteria set be training team. This is known as supervised learning.

All this has been under various advancement and contribution from various communities across the world what we know as today’s artificial intelligence.

Next we will move further with evolution of AI.
